I was diagnosed with type 2 when I hit 50.I had been warned that I was heading towards diabetes but their warnings fell on deaf ears. The doctor I was attending specialized in treating diabetics so I listened carefully to what he had to say. I was confronted with a very gloomy picture. I was told that diabetes cannot be cured but it can be controlled.I walked regularly and decided to change over to vegetarian for a while and started eating small frequent meals.I hit the diabetes hard and my body responded very well. Within six months I was off medication and I have never had to go back to medication. I went back to eating meat again after about nine months. I can switch back and forth at will between eating meat or not. I have now lived with diabetes for over sixteen years. I’m 67 now and still fit and healthy. I very seldom see a doctor and have not visited a doctor now for over eight years. I’m on top of this diabetes and I’m staying there. You can too!
